✨ Transform Your Garden into an Exotic Oasis

Bring a touch of Mediterranean charm to your home with this stunning, versatile plant.

Vibrant Blooms

Breathtaking trumpet-shaped orange-red flowers that attract bees and pollinators all summer.

Hardy & Resilient

Once established, pomegranates are surprisingly tough, drought-tolerant, and perfect for the UK climate.

The Perfect Gift

A symbol of prosperity and longevity—an unforgettable gift for any garden lover.

❄️ Ordering Information

Pomegranates are deciduous. If you order between November and early April, your plant will arrive leafless (dormant). This is the natural and healthy state for the plant during the cold months. It will burst into fresh green growth as soon as the spring warmth arrives!

Ground Planting Guide

For best results in the UK, plant in a south-facing spot against a wall to soak up reflected heat. Mix 30% grit into the soil for drainage—they hate “wet feet” in winter!

Winter Care Strategy

Protect young plants from deep freezes (-5°C) with horticultural fleece. If in a pot, use “pot feet” to lift the base off the ground and reduce watering until spring.

Pomegranate Plant Care (Punica granatum)

Position:
Full sun in a warm, sheltered spot. Ideal against a south-facing wall or in a container.

Watering:
Water regularly in spring and summer. Allow the soil surface to dry slightly between watering. Reduce watering in winter.

Soil:
Well-drained soil or compost. Avoid waterlogged conditions.

Winter care:
Young plants need protection in cold weather. Move potted plants to a sheltered position or protect with fleece during hard frosts.

Pruning:
Light pruning in late winter or early spring to remove dead or damaged growth.

Note:
Fruiting in the UK depends on warmth, position, and plant maturity.

A Winter Guide from Florescofolia
Thank you for choosing Florescofolia. Your new Pomegranate (Punica granatum) has arrived in its natural Winter Dormant state.
Why does my plant have no leaves?
Don’t worry—it’s not dead, it’s just sleeping! Deciduous plants like Pomegranates drop their leaves in winter to save energy. This is a sign of a healthy, strong plant preparing for a massive burst of growth in the Spring.
The “Scratch Test” (Proof of Life)
If you want to see the magic happening inside, gently scratch a tiny sliver of bark off a branch with your fingernail.
  • Green underneath? Your plant is healthy and full of life!
  • Brown/Dry? Please contact us with a photo.

🧤 Winter Care Instructions
  1. Watering: Very little! Only water if the soil feels bone-dry to the touch. Overwatering in winter is the #1 cause of plant death.
  2. Position: Keep in a bright, sheltered spot. If a heavy frost is forecast (below  -5°C), move the pot close to a house wall or into a bright porch.
  3. Patience: Pomegranates are “late sleepers.” You likely won’t see green buds until late April or May when the sun stays warm.
🌸 The Spring Reward
Once the leaves appear, start watering more regularly and use a liquid feed once a month. You’ll be rewarded with stunning orange-red flowers and fruit this summer!
